Rural Electrification Agency MD/CEO In Trouble Over 37 Bank Accounts Linked To His BVN; Under Attack For N2bn Contract Scam

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency, Engineer Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, has a lot of explanation to make to his superiors, anti-graft agencies and the general public as to how 37 bank accounts are linked to his BVN. Documents in possession of  A jebotv.blogspot.com have revealed that Ahmad’s BVN 22266427052 is linked to 37 bank accounts opened either in his name, that of a supposed relative, companies or an amorphous non-govermental organisation. Investigation conducted by crew revealed the startling discovery and for now the REA MD/CEO has offered no tangible explanation for this discovery. Governor Emmanuel Appoints 149 New Village Heads

  Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has approved the appointments no fewer than 149 village heads with a charge to work with the incoming administration of Pastor Umo Eno to maintain the prevailing peace and unity in their domains. The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Mr.Frank Archibong, who stood in for the governor, handed out the certificates of recognition to the respective paramount rulers at the Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council Chambers in Uyo for onward transmission to the 149 beneficiaries in their domains. BUSINESS: Akwa Ibom’s 2022 IGR N35bn – IRS

  The chairman of Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, IRS, Mr Okon Okon, said the commission generated approximately N35 billion in the 2022 fiscal year. Okon, who disclosed this in Uyo on Friday during the second inter-ministerial briefing organised by the Ministry of Information and Strategy, noted that even though the amount represents a shortfall of about N9 billion of its targeted N43.8bn revenue for the year, the IGR has steadily increased from N15.7 billion to N34.8 billion within the eight years of this administration. Okon, who further disclosed that Governor Udom Emmanuel gave tax waivers in 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the IGR of that year, broke down the yearly income to include N16 billion IGR in 2017, N24.2 billion in 2018, N30.6 billion in 2020, N31.4 billion in 2021 and N34.8 billion in 2022.
