Award-winning singer and performer Davido has opened up on why he did not collaborate with any American artist on his fourth studio album 'Timeless' which was released on the 31st of March 2023. The singer highlighted that he noticed that other artists like himself are feeling more comfortable with the afrobeats sound as time progresses also citing that the need to collaborate with an international act has also reduced. Davido also highlighted that the success of Afrobeats can also be seen as 'Timeless' peaked at number one on the US iTunes chart becoming the first and only African album to achieve this feat.

Davido, an internationally renowned Nigerian singer and music executive, has recently revealed how he got Asake to jump on the track for his latest album “Timeless”. He shared that even though he is a massive fan of the “Sungba” crooner, he did not reach out to him directly. Instead, he used the record label boss, Olamide, to convey his request.
